Imagine Terms of Use
Version 2 (2026-10-29) · Effective:
The short version
- Imagine is a children's story reader: your child, or you, reads out loud and the scene appears. It is for fun. We do not promise to teach reading and we do not measure learning.
- The account is yours, the adult. You are responsible for the profiles you create and for how your children use it.
- You get 7 free days with your card on file. The first charge is on the 8th day, and the subscription renews automatically, every month or every year, until you cancel. Cancel before the 8th day and you pay nothing.
- You can cancel any time in your account, under "billing." Access continues until the end of the period already paid.
- Voice reading works in Google Chrome or Safari, with a microphone. The voice goes to Google in Chrome, and may go to Apple in Safari (see the Privacy Policy).
1. Who we are and what this agreement is
These terms are an agreement between you and Imagine Books LLC, a company organized in Delaware, United States, at 1280 Lexington Ave FRNT 2, #1261, New York, NY 10028 ("Imagine," "we"). We have no company or office in Brazil. By creating an account you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. Who may use it
Only adults aged 18 or older may create an account. You state that you are the parent or legal guardian of the children whose profiles you create (up to four per account) and you authorize their use. Children use Imagine inside your account, without signing up themselves.
3. What Imagine is, and is not
A library of illustrated children's books, with read-aloud that makes the page react. It is not an educational tool, gives no grades, and does not replace school or a health or education professional. Speech recognition depends on the browser (Google Chrome or Safari) and a microphone; without them, the page does not react to the voice.
Where Imagine is offered. Imagine is offered in the United States and in Brazil. Books, languages, prices and currency may vary by country, and the account's country is set at sign-up. The public launch in Brazil is still being prepared, and some rules for Brazil may change before it; if they do, we will tell you as §11 says. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law of your country gives you.
4. Your account
Keep your e-mail and password private, and tell us at support@imagine-ai.app if you suspect unauthorized access. You can delete the account whenever you want under "account › delete account" (see §6). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law; when we do, we tell you why by e-mail and, unless a child is at risk or the law requires otherwise, give you a chance to fix it first.
5. Child profiles and the microphone
When you create a profile you read and accept that child's data notice. Reading with the microphone sends the voice to the browser's speech recognition, which is Google's in Chrome and Apple's in Safari, as the Privacy Policy explains. You can edit or delete a profile at any time; a deleted profile cannot be restored.
6. Free period, subscription, billing and cancellation
- Free period: 7 days, once per account. Your card is added at the start, and nothing is charged during the 7 days. The 7 days count from the card's confirmation, not from sign-up.
- Subscription: monthly or yearly, at the price shown on screen before you confirm, in US dollars (US) or Brazilian reais (Brazil), depending on the account's country.
- Billing: the first charge is on the 8th day. After that the subscription renews automatically for the same period (every month or every year) and charges the same card, until you cancel. One charge per period, nothing in between. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Price changes: if the price changes, we e-mail you at least 30 days before the renewal at which it applies, and you can cancel first.
- Coupons: if you have a coupon code, it is checked when you subscribe and the discount is shown before you confirm. A coupon applies under the code's conditions (for example, expiry and number of uses), has no cash value, and is checked again at the moment of the charge.
- Cancel: on the shelf, open "the account" and tap "billing." You go to the billing page run by Stripe, our payment processor; there, tap "Cancel subscription" and confirm. We don't ask why and we don't offer anything to make you stay. If you cancel during the 7 free days, you pay nothing. After that, access continues until the end of the period already paid and the subscription does not renew. You can undo the cancellation on the same page before the period ends. No fee.
- Refunds in the US: money already paid for a period is not refunded; the days it bought stay yours. This does not affect any right your state's law gives you.
- Refunds in Brazil: if the account is in Brazil and the first charge was less than seven days ago, we refund all of it. Cancel under "account › billing" and ask for the refund under "account › talk to us › a refund," or write to support@imagine-ai.app.
- Deleting the account ends the subscription at once, with no further charge. The rest of a paid period is not refunded, except for the Brazil refund above.
- Failed payment: if a charge does not go through, we tell you, and access may be paused until it is resolved.
7. Plans and roles
- Family subscription: access to Imagine's library for the profiles in your account.
- Workshop: some accounts have access to the Workshop, where books are written. Today it is open to creator accounts, granted by us, which make books for their own family's use, with no limit on how many.
- AI-generated illustrations are made only by our team. In the Workshop you build your book with the illustrations and characters Imagine already has.
8. Content
- Imagine's library is ours, licensed to us, or adapted from public-domain works with our own illustrations. You may read it inside Imagine for personal and family use. You may not copy, download, redistribute, sell, or use it to train AI systems.
- Books you write in the Workshop are yours. You grant us a free, non-exclusive license limited to what is needed to store, display and run them in your account. Today none of your books is shown to another family, and only our team adds books to the library. If that ever changes, it will come with new terms and your acceptance.
- What may not be written in the Workshop: content unsuitable for children (graphic violence, sex, hate, encouraging danger), anyone's personal information (including children's, such as full name, address, school or phone), unlawful content, or someone else's text or images without permission. We may remove what breaks this rule and, in serious or repeated cases, close the account.
- Library characters and illustrations used in the Workshop remain ours; you use them inside Imagine.
9. Rules of use
No unlawful use; no attempts to reach another person's account, book or data; no circumventing technical, security or payment limits; no automated access or bulk copying of the library. There is no communication between users in Imagine.
10. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the service running, but it may be down for maintenance or because of a failure. Speech recognition depends on the browser and on whoever provides it, Google or Apple, which we do not control.
In the US, to the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is," and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months. In Brazil, the supplier's warranties and liability under the Consumer Defense Code apply in full; nothing in these terms reduces them.
11. Changes to these terms
Each version has a number and date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we e-mail you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you disagree, you can cancel first; if your paid period is yearly, we refund the unused share.
12. Governing law and venue
- If you are in the US: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and disputes are resolved in the courts of New York County, New York, without affecting your right to use small claims court where you live.
- If you are in Brazil: you may sue in the courts where you live, and Brazilian consumer protection rules apply. There is no mandatory arbitration.
- Before any dispute, write to support@imagine-ai.app: we want to solve it directly.
